And if you do buy software someplace like Staples, there are lots of games and other programs in the $29 price range. (A copy of Microsoft Word costs $190 from Amazon, though, but many people get software bundled with a new computer and don't have to suffer the pain of paying for it separately.)
But how many copies of Turbo-Tax do you think they sell each year?
(Millions)
And how many IDPA clubs even exist... as far as potential sales for this software
package?
In addition to a fair number of hours (if you've ever tried writing software, you'll know what we mean...LOL... ) we've spent over $4,500 out-of-pocket for the software tools used to develop ForScore. (A partial list is the subject of another FAQ)
One of our users owns a machine shop, and paid $8,000 for the
software that runs his equipment. Many businesses use customized accounting software
costing $15,000 or more. Then there's the specialized software that hospitals use to
keep track of doctors, patients, medications, etc.
These are called "vertical markets", in contrast to a broad
"horizontal" market like the one for Turbo Tax.
Now, dust off that checkbook and buy ForScore. It's a bargain, in our oh-so-humble opinion ;-)
