Q:  Does ForScore support using a dongle for its license?

Versions 1.38 and later.support a dongle license

A 'dongle' (yes, that's really what they're called) is a hardware 'key' that plugs into a computer.  In the 1980s, they plugged into a computer's parallel printer port.  Now they're available as USB devices (see picture, below.)

A dongle is just  a key containing the license, and does not contain the software.  You could either install the software on the computer's hard drive and use the license on the dongle, or plug both the dongle and a flash drive containing the software into two of your computer's USB ports.

The computer into which you're plugging the dongle will need two small driver files installed before the dongle is plugged into it the first time.   Once the drivers are installed, you can run the software on any computer you want to use (but only on one computer at a time, unless you've purchased multiple dongles and licenses.)

Dongle pricing is set at $99, in addition to the main software license and any optional module(s).

WARNING:

If you lose a dongle, the replacement cost will be that of your original license plus the hardware cost of the dongle.

If a dongle becomes defective and you return it postpaid to Beach Bunny Software, it will be replaced at no charge.
