Network Setup
I've taught networking for a number of years (formerly Microsoft Certified Trainer, still Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). I'm not going to try to do so here in fifty words or less.
Assuming you have a basic network set up, ForScore should work easily.
You'll need to designate one computer as the 'server', where the data files will reside. This does not need to be a standalone server, and can run Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP Professional.
Share the folder containing the ForScore files. Be sure that both NTFS (if applicable) and share permissions are set so that your users have the ability to read, write, and execute.
On each of your workstations, map a drive to the shared folder on the 'server'.
On each of your workstations, create a shortcut to the ForScore program file on the 'server'. In the shortcut, specify that the software will start in that folder.
In this example, I've mapped the Z:\ drive of my workstation to a shared folder on the 'server'.
For network licensing issues, please read the separate Network_Setup.pdf document.
